Dr. Elina Dvorskaya, Principal


Dr. Elina Dvorskaya founded Dvorsky College Preparatory school with a vision and educational philosophy in mind based on a lifetime of experiences in education as a teacher and school administrator. Dr. Dvorskaya began her work in schools at the age of 19 as a teacher’s assistant and two years later began her 40+year teaching career. Dr. Dvorskaya’s experience included serving as the Mathematics Department and Methodology Chair for five years in the former Soviet Union. During her career in the former Soviet Union she also served as an Assistant Principal for three years, and School Director for four years. Throughout Dr. Dvorskaya’s career she was invited on numerous occasions to lead seminars and workshops on teaching methodology. After her immigration to the United States, Dr. Dvorskaya continued her career in education by creating a tutoring center and later on Dvorskaya Alternative School based on her own philosophy of education and an individual approach to every student.

In addition to Dr. Dvorskaya’s professional experience she has earned academic degrees both in the former Soviet Union and in the United States. Dr. Dvorskaya holds a Bachelors and Masters in Mathematics Theory and has completed additional coursework for qualification in teaching and administrative methodology.  After immigration to the United States, Dr. Dvorskaya was awarded a PhD in Philosophy of Education.

 

Igor Dvorskiy, DCP Director


Mr. Igor Dvorskiy plays a vital part in the daily and overall functioning of DCP.  Mr. Dvorskiy has been the Director of DCP for six years.  Prior to this position, he was a teacher for 10 years in several subject areas including: Physical Education, Math, Science, and Computers. Mr. Dvorskiy earned two Bachelors Degrees in Engineering and Education in the former Soviet Union.


Nonna Danilkevich, B.A., Director, Childcare Center and Elementary School Programs


Nonna Danilkevich has devoted over two decades of her life to enhancing student education and supporting child development. Nonna originally came from Belarus where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Education. In Belarus, Nonna worked as a Child Psychologist and the Assistant Principal in charge of curriculum and professional development at a Child Care Center of over 250 students. Upon immigrating to the United States in 1996 Nonna began working as a Community Outreach Coordinator for B.A.S.E., a program that assists individuals with licensing for family day care. In her work to improve the community, Nonna has been licensed herself, as an American Red Cross Trainer. Currently, Nonna is part of the leadership and has the role of Child Care Center Director for Dvorsky School. She has completed the California state required coursework in Child Development and Childcare Administration for this role. Nonna is committed to creating a well-rounded learning environment for children in West
Hollywood. Nonna has been serving as a member of the Russian Advisory Board in West Hollywood for over five years, and continues to expand her work in education and community development.

Julia Pelikhova, DCP Counselor


Ms. Pelikhova, DCP Counselor, is the newest addition to DCP’s administration team. Ms. Pelikhova’s experience and qualifications make her a valuable leader. Ms. Pelikhova holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. Upon completion of her Bachelors degree, Ms. Pelikhova continued her education in the field of School Counseling at Loyola Marymount University has a Masters in Education, and her Pupil Personnel Credential.  In addition to her academic background, Ms. Pelikhova has training and three years of college counseling experience at local high schools through UCLA Early Academic Outreach Program. Additionally, Ms. Pelikhova worked as a Test Preparation Supervisor and tutor for a private company. Ms. Pelikhova has been teaching several social science courses at DAS while providing students with a welcoming and safe environment, and personal and academic support as the DCP School Counselor.
